Before we begin any work with our clients and students, Ranjana and I start with a relaxation exercise.
Why is Relaxation Important?
When undertaking any course of action being relaxed helps. Being relaxed ensures everything flow effortlessly and smoothly. When you are stressed, things seem more difficult as you are burdened by unnecessary thoughts which hinder whatever you are doing. These pointless thoughts can become a danger especially if the work is driving, or operating dangerous equipment.
We recommend that you create a daily practice of relaxation and meditation in the morning when you wake-up and in the evening before you go to sleep*. This will help you become more relaxed in your day-to-day activities, even in stressful situations. You can access the guided LiberatingTouch Relaxation and Meditation Exercises at : https://liberatingtouchcentre.com/resources/
Below is an audio for the LiberatingTouch Tree Integration Meditation
* Never do any relaxation or meditation exercise when you are driving or operating equipment.
The Origins of the LiberatingTouch Relaxation Exercise
The LiberatingTouch Relaxation exercise has undergone an evolutionary process that slowly developed since the late 1980’s. Sathya Sai Baba or Swami (my Guru) guided me in the process of relaxation before meditation. At first, I was asked to simply repeat within myself the parts of my anatomy beginning with, my feet is relaxed, my ankles are relaxed, and so on, slowly working up all the way to my head. I kept repeating this every night, till one day (after about 6 months), I heard myself snoring but awake at the same time. At first my mind was trying to analyse the rhythmic sound I heard and realised that it was me snoring. At that point, my breath body was in sync with my physical body, so that I was in a position to detach myself from my physical body. As I felt myself detaching, I realised that I was not the physical body, because my consciousness was in my subtle body (breath body).
Healing Fatigue
The LiberatingTouch Relaxation Exercise and Meditations help many of our clients who are fatigued. Fatigue is a common symptom of modern living.
Why do we feel fatigued? When we don’t have the energy to do our tasks, we assume that food, air and water will give us the fuel to energise. Unfortunately, this is not completely true, only partially true. Our true fuel is the inner energy that comes from the ONE Source. Our bodies are like batteries. The energy trickles up from the muladhara chakra (the root or base chakra) up two channels called the Ida and Pingala. The lunar (Ida) and solar (Pingala) channels that runs up the spine for everyone, keep the body nourished. Eventually, the dormant channel at the centre of the spine (Sushumna) is automatically activated, when the individual evolves from humanity to divinity. To achieve this transformation, the individual has to go through thousands of lives, accumulate experience and transform these into wisdom.
A lot of people who contracted the covid virus reported fatigue as one of the main symptoms. One of the ways of energising ourselves is to find a big tree. Sit or stand leaning against the tree. Visualise the energy field of the tree and your energy field and see yourself merging with the tree. Imagine becoming one with the tree. Now, focus on your breath, breathing in and out. Do this for twenty minutes. In a way, you are charging your battery. This will also help you when you feel overwhelmed.

Coping with Life and Overwhelm
Why is life overwhelming for some people? For the majority of people, they are still in the process of learning from their experiences. At first life can be perceived as difficult, as they are gaining their wisdom from their experiences. Even though they are not aware, their innate wisdom is slowly forming from all their experiences in their other lives. It is all about the decisions they have to make in their present life. Some decisions are fear driven and cause suffering. They learn from that experience. Hopefully, they learn from the wrong decisions they made and learn not to make the same mistake. It is an evolutionary process that takes thousands of lives, learning experiences, so that you can gain the wisdom required to go to the final stages of evolution. Meditation helps you integrate the wisdom from your experiences and propel you to Self-Realise.
The LiberatingTouch Relaxation exercise is a perfect precursor to meditation. To find out more lookout for my July Blog.
